Re re-educating Our Children
Recently I have been reading and re-reading some of my southern books, (i.e The South was Right, Embattled Banner, The Real Lincoln, etc.), and one thing that I have been thinking about is how did a culture of people that wanted freedom so bad that they bled and died by the thousands that, that same culture of people just a few generations latter are afraid or ashamed to even fly the flag that their own flesh and blood died for not too many years ago. I found myself dwelling on this thought trying to figure out how this happened. I can only come up with one answer, re-education. Even before The War the north had begun this re-education process with the printing of anti-southern literature, i.e. Uncle Tom’s Cabin. Then immediately after the Yanks won their un-godly invasion of the south they began the forced re-education of the south’s children. This re-education worked so well that just a short 30-40 years latter that generations children were becoming ashamed of their fathers and grandfathers even while they we still alive. After thinking about this for awhile I almost became depressed thinking how can we win when this very effective brain washing has been going on for over a 140 years. Then a light came on inside and you can ask my wife that doesn’t happen that often. In sports tactics and military tactics we learn form our enemy, we learn the tactics used against us, improve them and use them against our enemy and many times the enemy has not worked out a defense of their own tactical offence. What does all this mean… we need to re re-educate our children. Place them in private schools or better yet home educate them and even if they must stay in the pagan school system at least take the time when they get home to re-educate them. But how can we really make an impact, even if we educate our own there are still millions more being force feed Yankee bologna. I also realized this task is more daunting when I found that there is virtually no pro-southern school literature on the market even from very conservative Christian organizations.
So I propose this, that every state should take on a new project we can even cross organizational lines and make it a joint venture between the LoS, SCV, TSA, CSA and other southern partisan organizations. We need to pool our resources and create state history books in a easy to teach from format that can be used at home and in private schools. It would need to emphasize the War for Southern Independence but in a non-biased view. This is something that can be done very cheaply and easily. Most states organizations have noted authors as members and with the ease and quality of computer printing some states could publish their own works.
I have seen locally printed books and booklets in a local Christian book store that sells homeschooling books on state history from a Christian perspective but they have all give a very poor account of the true histroy of the War. If each state group took it upon themselves to make such books I think they would have a good chance of getting them in the hands of homeschoolers and even some Christian schools. Don't print it with a "political" slant just tell the truth and let the people decide. Most public school students get real excited when I tell them the true history of our state. I personally believe it would be more successful state wide than if a single group tried to print one nationally. These books would not replace the history books used, only supplement them.
I encourage you to take this idea back to your organizations and take on this project. These are troubling times and we cannot win this fight without the re-education of our children I feel this is a task we must do if we are to succeed. And once we have produced these works we must see that they are in the hands of anyone that wants them even if we have to give them away. Please take these ideas to your own groups and I will to mine.
