Schools. You have public (government) and private (more like Christian) schools. Public schools are horrible. I hear about the stuff that goes on (sex, drugs, murder, etc.). It's horrifying. And look who's in charge - our great government. Christian schools are a lot nicer. They give a better education and spread the gospel, and that's what prevents the violence in schools. The Bible is a lot better than any government project to stop violence like D.A.R.E.
Perhaps we should make a Confederate school? Call it the C.S.A. - Confederate School Association. Teach the word of God and give a more conservative feeling in the school, so they can fight the liberals. Children are the future of society, and many of them are becoming worthless.

I will finish up college(Auburn University-- War Eagle) in a year and then it is off to law school. My goal is going to be fixing the school systems of Tennessee. I, thankfully, went to a private school and took Bible classes every year I was there, K-12. This liberal crap about separation of Church and State is nonsense. No were in our constitution, State or Federal, does it say the words separation of Church and State. The liberal pc propagandist gets that phrase from a letter sent by Thomas Jefferson to a disgruntled Baptist faction that wanted reassurance that their rights would be upheld. Jefferson explained to him that there will never be a Church of the U.S. like there was in England. There will never be a pope that controls what the gov. can do. He also stated that States can fund or believe what they want. He did not say that we should slap God in the face and remove Him from everything in our life's. In fact the supreme court was asked to rule on this in 1880 and they ruled that the Bible is essential to the prosperity of our nation and should be continued to be taught in public schools (first book ever taught in public schools). The court said the principles in which our nation was founded are in the Bible. Then in 1960 the liberal supreme court, completely disregarding procedure and court doctrine-- which is to look at past cases to use as law when deciding new cases-- banned all Christian believes from our schools and everything else. Now the left is completely destroying the remainder of our beliefs; I even read a newspaper articled about a kid who was expelled because he was reading his Bible in class.... Just Sad. Luckily though, in about 4 or 5 years I will fix this in TN and take back what is rightfully ours.
Another problem with public schools is that everyone thinks they should be given stuff for free now a days. Well I believe nothing is worth getting unless you have to work for it, and more importantly people will not try hard at something if they are getting it for free. I remember one year people in my area wined about having to pay $80 for books. I mean they were screaming at the top of their lungs about this. How screwed up is our nation when people don't want to give $80 to educated their child, and I live in a wealthy area. These people probably spend that for fun on the weekend. This is a real problem in our country right now, the socialist left have created a nation of winers, that think they deserve everything and don't want to work to survive. This is a very dangerous problem and only helps promote big government. -- God willing, I can fix this too.

Thats great csatn...good luck in finishing school and with your future task of revamping the schools in tenn.
As most of you may well know, Louisiana, my home state, is usually close to last in education. This is not some temporary pattern that comes and goes. No, this is a little more perminant. These are the ashes from the war of northern aggression, this society is what we have left.
Many officials in the school system try to explain why our children are so far behind...these are, more times than not, very feable attempts at correcting the problems.
If you take a quick look at our edu. system here, a number of things would seem obvious from the start.
1) many teachers in the public school system, for a number of years, were only a little more educated than the brighter students. There were many that struggled to earn an undergrad in general studies, and some that didnt even have an undergrad.
2) funding for the public schools made many aspects of education difficult, including bringing in qualified teachers. This also affected the extra aid programs, those which would help struggling students to get over the hump.
In my opinion, both reasons above are real, very real, but are a result of 3 other issues, issues that our generation had no say-so in. 1) Taking GOD out of the schools, as well as our government. When reconstruction began, of course the northerns who were chosen to educate our children, conveniently ommitted GOD from education.
2) I cannot speak for other states on this subject, but the only one that really compares is mississippi. Now, for anyone that may be new here, linux knows that I mean no offense when I hit on my next subject: Louisiana and miss. were two of the top southern states with post-war slave retention. Due to the ex-slaves loyalty to their owners, lack of money, or quite simply fear/hate for northerners, they never left. This would not be a problem if the race today (as a whole) was as hard working (pertaining to education for todays generation) as their ancestors were towards their duties. The irony is that La. & Miss. are usually at the bottom of the educational food chain.
3) The lack of money in the state. Im not talking state funding now, Im talking the amount of income in each students home. This directly affects each and every student in one way or another. Some children actually attend school to be able to eat, their only means of nourishment. For many of these kids, usually the bright ones, unless they were able to receive some type of scholarship, there was no way for them to get any higher education.
Its odd, but I can look at a problem in my state, and the south for that matter, and start my search for the root of the problem; usually I find it in writings and actions from 1861-65. That invasion changed everything. Our south, our beloved DIXIE has been bleeding since those days, now its time to stop the bleeding...its time to make the necessary adjustments that will strengthen the south, that will propel us back to the top of the economic, social, and political food chain. Its time to take back whats rightfully ours, and for ALL of us to stand in defense of our ancestors noble actions and their honor.......
GOD bless
Deo Vindice

Derek Our Constitutional Laws are based on the Bible....or I should say, God's Law. Now having said that......... The Liberals are wanting God out of our Schools and our Government.......If you take God out of our Governement, then the Liberals can take apart the Constitution, because it's based on God's law. If this happens, "We the people" will lose our freedoms. And that's what those Commie's want. I wish we had a "take a Liberal fishing day", because that'll be the day I'll love fishing. IRONCLAD

Fishing is not one of my favorite pasttimes either ironclad, but, if we are ever allowed to have the special day you spoke of in your post, ill bring the boat and bait... You make a good point pertaining to the actual seperation of GOD from our nation, constitution, and schools. If we read carefully, we will find that this process of eliminating GOD from this nation and its government started with lincoln. Im not saying that previous presidents may not have done something that was immoral...but, lincoln was blatant about thumbing his noce to GOD and the constitution. In lincoln and his cabinets eyes, if they seperated their actions and this nation from GOD, then GOD couldnt judge and punish them for their deeds. This snowball started in early 1861, now we have the opportunity to start the fire that will melt the massive ball, and bring to a halt nearly 140 years of a dictatorship... Deo Vindice Derek
