We have got to come up with ways to get out in the public eye, to gain more members and support...And ofcourse, to spread the word about our cause, and let people know that this is serious and that they can help...lets use this thread to discuss ideas!

My suggestion would be to post banner links at other sites that get more traffic to see if we can get some of those posters over here. Starting today I am going to post a link to the site into my sig line where I post on other Southern boards. That should generate some interest as well. You and I had discussed several time about getting articles done up to post, and I readily admit I have been remiss in completing the one on my desktop at home. I hope to have it finished this weekend since the wife will be out of town. Perhaps if we put out a general call to all the members on the site to see if any of them might wish to submit an article. We could have them email to you Mike, we proofread it to make sure it passes muster and then post it. I notice that most of the info on the home page ( www.thesouthernalliance.org/ ) is out of date. Perhaps we should consider an overhaul of the main page and spruce it up a bit. The white background is hard on the eyes, and honestly a bit drab. If we were to add pics of say Confederate heroes and the like it would be more inviting. Just some suggestions.

Hey guys great suggestions...I would also like to hit on some points made a few months back
First we need to have a general set of guidelines, covering everything from our "mission statement" to some basic rules of conduct. If we are able to put our guidelines and goals on paper as well as a heading in some shape, form, or fashion, I feel that more would join.
As far as the rules of conduct are concerned, I don't think that anyone already posting here will cause problems, but we don't need someone jumping on ship and then turning into some crazed racist...totally killing our cause and any respect we may have earned.
Just a tought

Very good suggestions Droc, thanks! I think w/ the return of Droc, the core members here should be able to easily formulate a mission statement and rules of conduct to post for the community at large.
I think this is something we should get to work on A.S.A.P.

Nice choice of pics michael....... As for our set of guidelines, our resources are limitless. I feel that a key reference point should be the grey book. We can also look to other organizations' guidelines for our starting. We cant just rip off idea for idea and word for word, but we can add to and take from any information that may be relevant to our org. As we are gathering info for our "mission statement" or organizational goals, we must consider our stance concerning politics; we must also dicide how far we are truely willing to take this. More than anything else though, in my mind at least, we need to stand out. There are many southern heritage organizations out there; each and every one chalked full with good intentions and even greater ideas. What can we do or promote that will make the southern alliance stand heads and shoulders above all others? ? Just food for thought Deo Vindice

I think the people on here now are the core group of people here.
The Gray Book is a great read.....And something that should be used. If you haven't picked up your copy.....your missing out.
It seems like they read my mind....when they did this book.
I'm rereading it again and it seems like I reading Gray book two. I know that sounds funny, but it's true. I fine something different very time I pick it up........

This may not be on the right track but what about coming up with a graphic or two and putting it on a t shirt with the website on it. We could, at first, just take the art file to a local print shop and have a couple made. Or we could make business cards or flyers to give to people. I know this is a much slower way of getting the word out but I've done this with our local LS chapter and have added 5 members in the last couple months. This may not be what your wanting but I'm trying to come up with some more ideas.

Definitely nice choice of pics Michael.
I like Drocs suggestions. We need structure and clear goals and stances if we are to be taken seriously and are to draw people and support to the site.
Did you see my suggestion about an area to suggest and discuss books about the South, Southern Heritage, and the Confederacy Michael? I think we would do well to have a suggested reading list and allow people to discuss books.

yup, its been added ;D
Before we can really do anything we have to as has been said decide what like we are willing to take, that makes us stand out. I would like to take a little more of a "hardline" so to speak not be extremist by any means... but simply make it known, that we do support, and want a free south and that we want our freedom back and will not stand second seat to the liberal elite but, that is just something we need to decide on....once we do that we will have a much better idea of what we need to do

We need to draw a line and make it clear to all that we are Southern, we come from proud Confederate heritages, and that we are supporters of a free Southern nation. Once this declaration has been made public, we can then focus on what direction we will take in an active role of support.

On the right track guys
I know that we all realize that for any group to speak on behalf of the south and what it stands for, means that this particular group will be painted with the wide brush of racist.
I feel that our only hope to be sucessful in our endeavors is to stick with FACT and EDUCATION...
If we only present fact, what will our opponents have to tear apart.
If we push education we cant go wrong. If our group speaks to 100 people and we only reach 1, that is 1 more person, one more voice in tune with our cause and goals.
We need to keep it simple, but to the point.
As far as politics are concerned, well, we all know that you have to have some type of "stroke" to accomplish most anything in our society. The added plus for us is that we have TRUTH on our side...not to mention that ol rebel yell that wells up deep down in our souls each and every time we go into battle...
